Forte Fellows Program

The Forté Fellows Program offers fellowships to women who are pursuing full or part-time MBA education at any Forté  sponsor business schools. To date, Forté has given out $68 Million to more than 3,000 fellows.

The Toigo MBA Fellowship

The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management Merit-Based Fellowship

Last year, the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management offered 380 fellowships to the best and brightest MBA students in the country (including full tuition for two years of full-time study). As a Consortium Fellow, you’ll be able to attend the Annual Orientation Program & Career Forum where you can connect with fellow incoming students from 18 universities along with key leaders at our corporate partners, which includes Fortune 500 companies.

The Forté Foundation

Are you interested in an MBA? The Forté Foundation now has a self paced and a formal curriculum geared towards providing you with the resources needed to tackle the intimidating MBA application process.

As a graduate of this program, I feel that Forté can provide you with the necessary skills and strategies to help you succeed during application season. I was able to learn how to best position myself and meet admission representatives from top schools through this program.

If an MBA is not for you at this time, please take a look at their webinars. They are another invaluable resource; many experts host these and discuss topics ranging form becoming a great leader to negotiation.

Being Called Bossy!

Have you ever been called bossy? I have! Why is bossy considered an “unpleasant” quality for a woman or young girl? A woman who speaks her mind and is not afraid to voice her opinions is great thing!

LeanIn.Org and the Girl Scouts of USA have a great website banbossy.com where they share tips on how to overcome this obstacle in the workplace and in everyday life!  There are many ways to succeed in dealing with this issue. For example, you can ask someone who refers to you as being “bossy” if he or she would have had the same reaction if you were a man. Also, you can make sure everyone in your department’s voice is heard at meetings (or on all projects) in order to set the bar that everyone deserves equal treatment in ensuring that their opinion is heard! This way you will not appear to overpower meetings because everyone will feel welcome to voice their opinion.

Remember that not just one of these strategies will solve your problems, but it is a great place to start!
